(its actually november now) I made a blog space!

Long story short, I made a decision to keep better documentation of my creative endeavours. Since graduating and lacking the creative community, I found that it was hard to upkeep motivation without inspiration from the people around me. Hopefully this keeps  me accountable to make more entries to keep my left brain active.

Anyway, I have a bunch of things that I’m gonna dump here. I don’t feel as proud of them anymore, but am still grateful for since they helped me grow as a creative. These are more projects on a smaller scale so there wasn’t much process documentation but I’ll try to describe what the project brief was at least!

Anyway thank you so much for being here whether you’re a future employer of a kaypoh friend. Feel free to chat me up anytime on telegram @saffrenc if there’s anything youre interested in (or in any other blog entries).

Vein-Pot
Exploration of a new material: Fascinating Flour

Visual Literacy Publication In my first year of design school, I was thoroughly intrigued by the visual communication class. As if I were a child again, I found myself looking through the world in new lenses as we found new experiences in looking at colour, type and shapes in nature’s form. I took this as my inspiration for the publication, looking at the world in the eyes of a child

Rainflower
I think my strong suits in illustrations rely back to my roots in Chinese calligraphy. This was done for a photoshop digital sketching and painting class. The rainflower was inspired by a series of doodles that I made while ideating.

T-shirt design
For AKIID camp and I was part of the team tasked to help design the branding and also t-shirt.

Post-Its
Short film done with some friends for a motion design module.

Why do dogs sniff each other butts? My first project using Adobe After Effects done overnight for the motion design module. Voiceover done by my friend (whom I paid $2) and cameo by me.

Finding Our WayThis is a more shameless plug but I sing! Was invited by my friend Reno to help out on the female vocals on the song for the orientation camp he organised, anyway here it is this was really fun to make.
